NORMAN — The Oklahoma soccer team announced its schedule of 2017 spring matches on Tuesday afternoon. The Sooners are set to play a total of five contests throughout March and April, including three matches in Norman at John Crain Field. All matches will be free and open to the public.
OU's first spring contest will be held on Saturday, March 4, when it welcomes the University of Central Oklahoma to Norman. Kickoff is scheduled for 10 a.m. CT. The Sooners will travel to Tulsa, Okla., the next day to face the Golden Hurricane at 6 p.m. CT on March 5.
On Sunday, March 26, the Sooners will host Big 12 opponent Baylor, before playing its last home match of the spring on Saturday, April 1, against Missouri Southern State. Both games will kick off at 2 p.m. CT.
Following the Sooners' contest on April 1, fans are invited to join OU at a banquet celebrating the program's 20th anniversary and history 2016 season. More information and registration form can be found here.
The Sooners will conclude their spring slate on Saturday, April 9, with an 11 a.m. CT contest against Nebraska. The match will be played in Kansas City, Mo., at St. Teresa's Academy, where senior midfielder Lizzie Luallin attended high school.
Oklahoma is coming off a record-setting season in which it picked up its first-ever win in NCAA play with a 1-0 victory over SMU in the first round of the tournament. The victory represented its 14th of the season, the most in school history. In 2017, the Sooners will return 19 players from that squad while adding a talented seven-member signing class.
