IRVING, Texas – University of Oklahoma sophomore Audrey Alford pulled in the team's second Big 12 Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week award of the young season. A setter from Norman, Okla., this is her third career award from the conference after earning Big 12 Rookie of the Week late last season on November 16 and 23.

Alford was named to the UALR All-Tournament team and set several Sooner records in the process as she paced Oklahoma to a 4-0 showing. She dished out a Big 12-leading 13.50 assists per set as OU averaged 15.12 kills per set and hit a collective .362.

In Thursday night's opener against the host Trojans, Alford collected 58 assists to set the program record for assists in a four-set match during the 25-point, rally-scoring era. She would break the old record set by Julia Doyle (53 vs. Kansas State in 2013) again the next night with 56 assists vs. UT Martin to give her the top two totals in a four-set match. In a five-set win over Mississippi State on Saturday morning, Alford dropped 66 assists to claim that record as well (previously 60 by Doyle vs. Iowa State in 2014(.

For the weekend, she added eight kills and hit .462, while netting four service aces, two blocks and averaged 1.19 digs per set.

Oklahoma is back at home this week to host its annual NIKE Invitational. The action gets underway Thursday night at 7 p.m. against Texas-San Antonio.
