NORMAN -- Installation of the new big screen at Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium is complete.
Norman-based contractor Daktronics/Aztec has spent the last two weeks raising into place the 120 panels that make up the 47-foot-high by 167-foot-wide structure, which measures as the second-largest video board in all of college athletics.
View a unique perspective of the video board installation by viewing the images below.
The new video board will debut with Oklahoma's 2016 home opener vs. ULM on Sept. 10. Order tickets online or by calling (800) 456-GoOU.
We strapped a GoPro onto one of the video panels as it was raised into place. The result was some breathtaking views. Photo Gallery >>
Norman-based Daktronics/Aztec has installed every video board at OU since 1997. Bill Anderson (second from right) has been the site foreman for each project since 2000.

What does a video board panel look like up close? See for yourself. Over 6 million individual LED lights make up the 7,849 square-foot video board. View More >>
