Postseason Notes
- Oklahoma joins UCLA and Arizona as the only teams in NCAA Division I history to win at least three national championships
- The Sooners reached the Women's College World Series for the 10th time in program history and fifth time in the last six years
- Oklahoma made it to the Super Regionals for the seventh straight season and 10th time overall
- OU has reached the postseason in each of the last 23 seasons, including all 22 under head coach Patty Gasso
- Oklahoma won an unprecedented fifth straight Big 12 championship this season and has 13 titles overall with nine in the regular season and four in the Big 12 tournament
General Team
- Posted the best winning percentage in conference games in school history (.944) and the longest winning streak at OU (31 games from April 2 to June 7); the winning streak was tied for the 17th longest in NCAA history
- The overall winning percentage of .877 and road win percentage of .923 (12-1) ranked second in OU single-season history, as did the team's 17 Big 12 wins
- The 57 wins overall, 40 non-conference wins, 24 home wins, 21 neutral-site wins and reaching 50 wins in 57 games tied for third most in a season at Oklahoma; 57 wins ranked tied for second in Big 12 history
- Ranked fourth in OU history with a non-conference winning percentage of .851 (40-7) and home win percentage of .923 (24-2); also ranked fourth with 12 road wins and getting to 40 wins in 47 team games
- Posted the fifth best neutral-site win percentage at .808 (21-5) in Oklahoma history
- Tied for sixth at OU with four extra-inning games this year, two wins in extra innings, a 40-game start of 33-7 and reaching 30 wins in 37 games
- Winning percentage of .500 (2-2) in extra inning games and 30-game start of 24-6 ranked seventh in OU history
- Ranked eighth in OU history with a 20-game start of 16-4
- Tied for the ninth most games played in a season at OU with 65 and ninth-best start with four losses (17-4)
Team Batting- Batting average of .351 and hit total of 631 ranked second in both OU and Big 12 history; the 631 hits were 16th most in NCAA history
- Posted the third most doubles (100) and total bases (967) in school history; doubles total also third most in Big 12 annals
- On base percentage of .427 ranked fourth in school and Big 12 annals
- Slugging percentage of .538, 435 runs scored, 183 extra-base hits, 14 sac flies and 1,798 at-bats were fifth highest in OU single season history; runs scored ranked fifth in Big 12 history, at-bats were seventh most and slugging was eighth highest
- Ranked seventh in school history with 80 stolen bases, leading the Big 12 in the category for the first time in 2000
- Recorded 41 hit by pitches to rank eight in school annals
- Hit 70 home runs and walked 208 times, ranking 10th in school annals in each
Team Pitching
- Recorded the sixth best strikeout rate in OU history at 7.09
- Threw 22 shutouts to tie for seventh in Oklahoma single-season history
- Posted the eighth highest strikeout total (433) in school history
Team Fielding
- Broke the school and Big 12 record with a fielding percentage of .983 and committed the fewest errors ever at OU with 28; fielding percentage was fifth best in NCAA history
- Allowed only eight stolen bases, ranking second in OU single season history
- Ranked third in OU history by allowing teams to steal on 36.4 percent of attempts
- Turned 23 double plays, ranking fourth at OU and tied for ninth in Big 12 history
- The seven passed balls tied for seventh in OU annals
Honors and Awards
- A program-record nine Sooners were named to the Academic All-Big 12 team. The Sooners set another school record by placing seven student-athletes on the first team.
- For the fourth time in the last five seasons Oklahoma had at least three All-Americans in first-teamer Paige Parker and second-teamers Erin Miller and Shay Knighten.
- OU tied a school record with eight All-Region honorees for the third straight season.
- Oklahoma swept every major Big 12 award, including Player of the Year, Pitcher of the Year, Freshman of the Year, Coach of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year.
- Erin Miller became the first outfielder in conference history to be Big 12 Player of the Year, while Paige Parker became the second player in league history to be Pitcher of the Year as a freshman and a sophomore.
- Patty Gasso was Big 12 Coach of the Year for the ninth time overall and fifth straight season. No other coach in league history has even won the honor more than three times.
Attendance
- OU had four of the 10 largest crowds in the history of Marita Hynes Field this season and set a school record with an average attendance of 1,279 fans per game
- The 1,777 fans on May 14 vs. Oklahoma State marked the largest regular season crowd ever and the second largest crowd overall
- With 1,731 fans against Wichita State on May 20, it was the largest Regional crowd ever and the fourth largest overall
- Games against Ole Miss on May 21 and Louisiana-Lafayette on May 27 both saw 1,641 fans, tying for the ninth largest crowds ever
Active Streaks
- The team's 15-game Big 12 winning streak is tied for second in school history
- The nine-game conference road win streak is third longest at OU
- Oklahoma's 10-game road winning streak is tied for fourth longest in school history
- The 15-game home winning streak and eight-game conference home win streak are each tied for sixth longest
Key Wins
- The team's three-game sweep of Baylor (April 8-10) was the first time the Bears had been swept in Waco since the sport was reintroduced in 1996
- Oklahoma swept Texas (April 14-16) and has won seven straight in the series, its longest ever win streak vs. the Longhorns
- OU's 9-0 win at No. 9/9 Tennessee (April 23) was the team's largest margin of victory over a top-25 team since an 11-0, five-inning victory over then-No. 24 Kentucky on Feb. 16, 2013 and was the largest margin of victory for OU over a ranked team on the road since a 10-0, five-inning win at then-No. 24 Kansas on March 23, 2003
- Tied for fifth at OU with a stolen base percentage of .938 (15-16) this season
- Her three stolen bases vs. Maryland on March 12 were the most by a Sooner since 2009
Fale Aviu
- Tied for ninth in OU single-season history with three sacrifice flies this year
- Ranked sixth in OU annals by recording 16 hit by pitches and posted the eighth highest on-base percentage in OU history at .540 this year (ninth highest in Big 12 history)
- Her walk-off grand slam vs. Kansas on April 1 was the first that didn't envoke a run-rule for OU since 2010
- Became the first freshman to lead the team in batting average (.397) since Jessica Shults in 2010
- Ended her career tied for sixth at OU (eighth in Big 12) with 11 career triples, tied for eighth with six sacrifice flies and tied for 10th with 154 career runs scored
- Her 22 doubles this season tied a Big 12 record and ranked second in OU history, and she tied for 10th in OU history with 34 extra-base hits
- Tied for eighth in Big 12 history with 217 at-bats this year
- Ended her sophomore season ranked second in Oklahoma history with a career winning percentage of .869 (66-10), fifth in strikeout rate (7.35), seventh with 66 career wins, 493 strikeouts and an opponents' batting average of .183, ninth in complete games (55), shutouts (23) and saves (3) and 10th in innings pitched (469.1)
- Tied the school record with 38 victories on the season, finished third in OU annals with a .927 winning percentage (38-3), ranked fourth all-time at OU with 32 complete games and 14 shutouts, posted the eighth most strikeouts in Oklahoma history (269) and ranked 10th in OU history with 7.46 strikeouts per seven innings
- The 38 wins tied for third most in Big 12 history
- Threw her fifth career no-hitter against BYU on March 11 (second all-time with five no-hitters)
- Finished her career ranked sixth in batting average (.369) and ninth in OBP (.456) at OU
- Finished her career ranked fourth in Oklahoma history with 7.44 strikeouts per seven innings, eighth with 89 career starts and 10th with 56 career wins, 106 career appearances and 456 strikeouts
