Recapping the Spring Season

The Oklahoma soccer team recently concluded a successful undefeated spring slate in which it finished with an overall record of 2-0-2. Rising senior midfielder Shiloh Price reflected on the spring and looked forward to the upcoming 2016 season.

What did you see from the team this spring? What are some improvements or strides you feel like your team made?
"From this spring, I saw this team become more authentic and honest with ourselves and as a group. We recognized that if we want to accomplish certain expectations then we have to be a different version of ourselves. This includes the good habits we started this spring which will carry us into the summer."

The team went undefeated in the spring matches. What do you think you and your teammates took from those matches?
"I believe we felt as though we still had more to accomplish. Although we went undefeated, this allowed us to measure the quality of our performance. Performing in a manner that we know we are capable of is what we are striving for. Since we did earn positive results from these spring games, we are confident in our abilities to earn wins this Fall with the right mindset and work ethic."

Team

Next fall, you return all but two members from last year's team. What expectations or goals do you have with so many familiar faces coming back?
"We have unfinished business that we must take care of this fall. We know how we left off from last season so this fall is our time to showcase the chip on all of our shoulders from the year before. I know this team has a slight edge to them and we are not going to settle for anything but the best. We are energized and  motivated to reach the group's potential."

You will be a senior this upcoming season. Talk a little bit about how you see your role on the team. What was it like already stepping into that senior role this spring?
"My role has changed. Not only do I need to leave this program in a better place but I need to allow my standards to be passed onto the one's who will fill my shoes after me. I believe I will have no regrets this year because I am going to leave all my hard work on the field. I want to be more fit than I have ever been so I am more confident than ever before. Already stepping into it this spring has given me some practice on how I want to lead this team by example."

Who are some of your teammates that you think Sooner fans should keep an eye on in the fall?
