Sooners Finish Ninth in South Carolina

NORMAN – The University of Oklahoma women's golf team finished the Clemson Invitational in ninth place, carding a three-round 888 (+24). The event was held at the par-72, 6,253-yard Reserve at Lake Keowee course in Sunset, S.C.
The Sooners shot a 310 (+22) in the tournament's final round, dropping six spots from their third-place spot after Monday's second day. No. 8 Florida finished on top of the leaderboard with an 861 (-3) and Furman came in second place at 862 (-2). Michigan State took third at 864 (E).
Hannah Wood paced the Sooners in the event, firing a 218 (+2) to share 12th place. The sophomore posted a 75 (+3) in Sunday's round.
Fellow sophomore Ana Ruiz recorded a 77 (+5) on the day and tied for 26th place with a three-round 222 (+6).
Sophomores Valerie Tanguay and Rylee Pedigo tied for 45th place, both with a 227 (+11). Pedigo registered a 76 (+4) in Sunday's session, while Tanguay shot an 82 (+10).
Freshman Julienne Soo tied for 60th place with a 231 (+15) after shooting an 82 (E) in the final round.
Karen Arimoto played as an individual in the event and was unattached from team scoring. The freshman pocketed five birdies en route to a career-best 71 (-1) in the tournament's final day. She finished tied for 45th place at 227 (+11).
The tournament marks the team's final regular-season event. The Sooners will return to the course on April 22-24 in San Antonio, Texas, for the Big 12 Championship.
