NORMAN, Okla. – L. Dale Mitchell Park hosts a Bedlam game for the first time in two years as the University of Oklahoma baseball team welcomes Oklahoma State for a non-conference contest on Wednesday, April 20. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 pm.

Oklahoma suffered a three-game, Big 12 sweep at No. 7 TCU over the weekend to even its record at 18-18-1 overall and 4-8 in conference play. Junior shortstop Sheldon Neuse leads the Sooners with a .371 batting average, .652 slugging percentage and .475 on-base percentage. He has driven in a team-high 25 runs on nine doubles, five triples and six home runs. Senior right fielder Alex Wise has moved in to second on the team with a .288 average. He has hit a team-leading 10 doubles and scored 20 runs. Freshman center fielder Steele Walker hit .467 (7-for-15) last week and is hitting .407 (11-for-27) over the last eight games to lift his season average to .260. Freshman right-hander Jake Irvin (2-0) gets the nod to start for the third Tuesday game in a row. He picked up a five-inning win over Dallas Baptist (4/5) and a three-inning win at Wichita State (4/12) his last two times out. Irvin owns a 5.55 earned run average with 25 strikeouts in 24.1 innings pitched. The freshman class has been credited with 12 of Oklahoma's 18 wins this season, which trails only Texas Tech for the most wins by freshmen in the Big 12 at 14.

Oklahoma State is fresh off a road sweep of Baylor and heads to Norman with a 22-13 overall record and 7-5 Big 12 mark under fourth-year head coach Josh Holliday. Shortstop Donnie Walton is the Cowboys top hitter at .339 with 23 runs scored and 21 driven in. Second baseman J.R. Davis is a close second at .327, including a team-high .347 in conference games. Oklahoma State turns to right-hander Michael Mertz (1-2) on Tuesday night. In 10 appearances, including five starts, he holds a 4.15 ERA with 39 strikeouts in 34.2 innings of work.

Last Time They Met

Second-seeded Oklahoma State eliminated third-seeded Oklahoma from the Big 12 Championship in Tulsa to end the Sooners season for a second year in a row. Despite outhitting the Cowboys, 6-8, Oklahoma fell by a score of 5-1. Jon Perrin got the win in six one-run innings and was aided by a 3-for-4, two-RBI game from Garrett Williams. Taylor Alspaugh went 2-for-4 and drove in OU's lone run.

All-Time vs. Oklahoma State

Oklahoma trails Oklahoma State in the all-time series, 152-136. The Sooners hold the longest winning streak of the series with an 11-game stretch from 1976-1978. In the last two seasons, The Cowboys hold a 9-3 advantage. The longest game played between the two was a 12-9, 18-inning victory for Oklahoma in Stillwater on April 15, 2014.

Bedlam in Norman

The Sooners last hosted the Cowboys at L. Dale Mitchell Park on April 1, 2014; a 3-1 OSU win. Oklahoma mustered just three hits as Tyler Nurdin claimed the win for Oklahoma State. Gage Green led the Cowboys with a 2-for-4 night to go with a solo home run. All-time, Oklahoma leads the all-time series, 24-22, when playing in Norman. The Sooners did not host a Bedlam match-up between 1997 and 2010.

The 2016 Bedlam Series

Oklahoma State plays host for this season's Big 12 Bedlam Series. Game one will be played at the Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City on Friday, May 13. The game will be televised nationally on ESPNU. The remaining two games will be played at Tulsa's ONEOK Field on May 14 and 15.

Milestone Tracker

Senior left fielder Hunter Haley enters the week with 97 runs scored and 99 runs driven in over the course of his Sooner career. He looks to become the first OU player to reach 100 runs and 100 RBI in his career since his one-time teammate Max White (2010-13). Beginning with Jackson Williams (2005-07), seven Sooners reached the milestone over the next seven years. Haley would become the first to join the group having done so entirely in the BBCOR era.
