NORMAN — The University of Oklahoma soccer team played a pair of springs matches in Tulsa, Okla., this weekend, battling to ties in both of the contests.
The Sooners faced Arkansas on Saturday on the campus of Oral Roberts in a match that ended in a 0-0 draw. OU played Tulsa on its home field on Sunday to the same result.
The matches were the second and third of OU's spring slate. On Feb. 28, the Sooners took on North Texas in Norman. OU and the Mean Green played a scoreless match before Shiloh Price tallied a goal with 29 seconds remaining to give OU the 1-0 victory.
OU will close its spring schedule when it faces Nebraska at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, in Kansas City, Mo., at St. Teresa's Academy, where midfielder Lizzie Luallin attended high school.
In 2016, OU head coach Matt Potter's squad returns 21 student-athletes who saw playing time last season, including 17 who appeared in 10 or more contests. The Sooners will also add the talented five-member signing class of Lauren Haivala, Madissen Lewis, Kristina O'Donnell, Ivanna Rivas and Madison Verge to the group.
