STILLWATER, Okla. – The No. 72  Oklahoma women's tennis team fell to No. 10 Oklahoma State, 4-1, on the road Saturday to begin Big 12 play.

The Sooners (5-5, 0-1 Big 12) began the day by dropping both doubles matches. Senior Emma Devine and junior Mimi Fotopouos fell first, 6-3, to the Cowgirls' Viktoriya Lushkova and Carla Tur Mari. On court one, sophomores Simran Sethi and Lily Miyazaki were defeated 6-3 by Kelsey Laurente and Maria Alvarez to clinch the point for OSU.

The Cowgirls (11-3, 1-0 Big 12)  took the first singles match when Lushkova topped Brigante  6-1, 6-2 on court four. Miyazaki fell next, losing 7-6 (2), 6-0 to the Cowgirls' Katarina Adamovic at the No. 1 position. 

Devine put the Sooners on the board by defeating No. 29 Vladica Babic, 7-5, 6-4, at the No. 2 position. Devine, who is ranked No. 123,  remains undefeated at three positions  in her senior season for Oklahoma. 

Oklahoma State clinched the match with a victory at the No. 6 line. OU's Malene Stripp fell, 7-6 (2), 6-4, to Alvarez. With the match in hand, play continued on courts four and five. Sethi was defeated, 7-5, 7-6 (6), by OSU's Katarina Stresnakova.

OU's Fotopoulos added one last point for the Sooners with a three-set victory, 6-4, 4-6, 2-1 (9), over Laurente on court four.

The Sooners are back in action Wednesday as they travel to take on Tulsa.
