Game Notes
Saturday's game was the first ever between Oklahoma and Grand Canyon ...  OU has doubled in 16 straight games, hitting 37 in that span ... batting leadoff for the first time this year, senior Erin Miller tied a season high with three hits while driving in a season-high four runs ... freshman Caleigh Clifton tied career highs with two hits and two RBI

FULLERTON, Calif. – Senior Erin Miller provided a spark at the top of the lineup and a pair of freshmen shined in the circle as No. 13/14 Oklahoma (19-6) rolled past Grand Canyon (21-10) at the Easton Tournament Saturday, 7-1.

Batting leadoff for the first time this season, Miller matched a season high for hits by going 3-5 at the plate and drove in a season-best four runs. She doubled, homered and scored twice in OU's first ever meeting with GCU.

In the circle for Oklahoma, freshmen Brittany Finney and Jayden Chestnut combined to give up just one unearned run on five hits with no walks issued.

Finney made her fifth start of the season and covered the first 3.0 innings. She allowed just two hits and one unearned run while striking out three. Chestnut entered in relief in the fourth and got the final 12 outs as she struck out two and yielded three hits.

Oklahoma started strong with four runs in the first two innings and then finished strong with three more runs in the sixth to smother the Antelopes.

The Sooners were efficient in the first inning, scoring three runs within the first six batters.

Miller and freshman Sydney Romero started the game with back-to-back singles. Sophomore Lea Wodach moved the runners into scoring position with a sacrifice bunt, and freshman Shay Knighten got OU on the board with an RBI single to right field.

Knighten stole second to put two in scoring position again before freshman Caleigh Clifton laced a double into right center to push the lead to 3-0. Clifton matched career highs in both hits (2) and RBI (2) in the game.

Oklahoma added another run in the second as Miller doubled home fellow senior Kady Self, who had also doubled.

The exclamation mark came in the sixth inning thanks to Miller's three-run homer.

Self and sophomore Kelsey Arnold each singled before Miller drove a deep blast to center field. It hit the top of the wall and bounced over for the Sooners' first homer of the weekend and Miller's fifth of the season.
