FULLERTON, Calif. – No. 13/14 Oklahoma (19-5) pounded out 15 hits for the third straight game and took down DePaul (6-16) Friday afternoon at the Easton Tournament, 6-1, in Fullerton Calif.

Senior Erin Miller and freshman Sydney Romero led the offensive attack with three hits each. For Miller, that number tied a season high, while Romero matched a career high. Both players have 10 multi-hit games this year to lead Oklahoma, and Romero's four three-hit games this year is also a team best mark.

Senior Kelsey Stevens and freshman Jayden Chestnut combined to throw a three-hitter for Oklahoma. Stevens threw the first 4.2 innings and gave up just one run on one hit with two walks and seven strikeouts. Chestnut closed it out over the final 2.1 frames. She struck out three while allowing two hits and one walk.

It was a pitchers' duel through the first four innings as Stevens battled with DePaul starter Megan Leyva. Stevens retired 11 straight batters from the first inning through the fourth. Meanwhile, Leyva allowed at least one baserunner in each of the first three innings but kept OU off the board until the fifth inning.

Sophomore Kelsey Arnold got the top of the fifth started as she chopped a single over the head of DePaul starter Megan Leyva. Freshman Shay Knighten then pulled a double into left field, and Arnold reached third on the play. Miller put OU on the board when she lined a double of her own off the wall in center field, plating Arnold and Knighten.

Two batters later, Romero collected her third hit of the game when she singled to left field, advancing Miller to third. A steal of second by Romero was followed by an RBI single by sophomore Paige Parker, making it 3-0 for Oklahoma. OU's fourth run of the inning came in courtesy of an RBI groundout by freshman Fale Aviu.

DePaul also cracked the scoreboard in the bottom of the fifth on a fake double steal, but OU got that run back in the next frame.

For the second straight inning Arnold led off with an infield single. Arnold stole second and moved to third two batters later thanks to a bunt single by Miller. Sophomore Lea Wodach then lifted a fly ball to center field, allowing Arnold to score on a sacrifice fly.

The Sooners then added an insurance run in the seventh.

Senior Whitney Montgomery led off with a bunt single and stole second. Junior Macey Hatfield pinch hit and delivered a single to left field, moving Montgomery to third. OU had a pair of runners erased after a fielder's choice, but senior Kady Self hit an RBI double later to drive in Hatfield.
