LOS ANGELES — With several Sooners stepping into new roles in the lineups, the No. 1 Oklahoma women's gymnastics team did not miss a beat, soaring to a 197.950 to 197.200 road victory over No. 8 UCLA on Sunday afternoon inside Pauley Pavilion.

The Sooners (20-1 overall) posted the highest mark on all four events against the Bruins (6-5 overall) and secured at least a share of the individual crowns on each event. The team score was the second-best of the season for OU and its best on the road.

"The team handled some challenges that were thrown at them this past week with absolute grace and confidence," OU head coach K.J. Kindler said. "I am so proud of them today!"

Senior Hunter Price picked up her first career vault title with a score of 9.9. On bars, junior McKenzie Wofford tallied a 9.95 to share the individual honor with UCLA's JaNay Honest. The bars title was the ninth of the season for Wofford.

Sophomore Stefani Catour took advantage of her career debut in the bars lineup, scoring an impressive 9.925 for the Sooners, and both Capps and senior Keeley Kmieciak contributed marks of 9.825 to the team score.

The Sooners used a 49.375 on vault, which matched their fifth-best score of the season on the event, to grow their lead .325, 98.775 to 98.450. On bars, the Bruins scored a 49.300.

Behind a 49.625 on floor, which is the third-best mark of the year for OU and ties the sixth-best in program history, the Sooners entered the final rotation with a 148.400 to 147.675 lead over the Bruins, who posted a 49.225 on beam.

On floor, Jackson and Scaman led the way with exciting routines that earned them both a 9.95. The score matched a career high for Jackson. Also putting together strong performances were Capps and Jones, who both tallied 9.925s. In the leadoff spot, sophomore Natalie Brown recorded a solid 9.875.
