NORMAN – One night after no-hitting BYU, sophomore Paige Parker took another no-hitter into the seventh inning Saturday afternoon before settling for a two-hit outing as No. 13/14 Oklahoma (15-4) defeated the Cougars (14-10), 3-0, at Marita Hynes Field.

Friday night Parker struck out a season-high 11 batters while throwing her fifth career no-hitter against BYU. She almost made it No. 6 Saturday as she held the Cougars hitless for the first 6.1 innings of the contest. It was the longest no-hit stretch for Parker in one game in her career, as all previous no-hitters came in five-inning, run-rule victories.

With OU on top 3-0 in the top of the seventh, Parker fielded a comebacker from Lauren Bell for the first out. Two outs away from the no-hitter, BYU finally got to Parker when Ashley Thompson hit a double to right-center, ending Parker's run at 11.1 consecutive no-hit innings.

After a strikeout, Madison Merrell reached on an infield single to put runners on the corners. BYU's Coco Bond represented the tying run for the Cougars and faced a full count. She fouled off three pitches to stay alive, but Parker froze her for strike three to give the Sooners their seventh straight win.

Parker finished with her third shutout of the season as she allowed two hits with five strikeouts and two walks to improve to 5-2 on the season.

Oklahoma's offense was able to work out scoring opportunities against BYU starter Olivia Sanchez early in the game, but couldn't get any runs across the plate. The Sooners had the leadoff batter on in four of the first five innings, but stranded five runners total in those innings.

Tied at 0-0 in the bottom of the sixth, the offense finally broke through.

Sophomore Lea Wodach got things started with a single to center field, extending her hitting streak to personal-best 13 games. A sacrifice bunt from senior Erin Miller moved to Wodach to second base, while a groundout moved her to third with two outs.

Senior Kady Self then came through with the clutch hit as she sent a screaming chopper off the glove of Bond at third base. Wodach scored to give OU the 1-0 lead. Parker kept the inning going as she reached on an error before freshman Caleigh Clifton laced a double to right-center to extend the lead to its final margin of 3-0.

Parker had a season-high two hits in the win, while Clifton's two RBI tied a career high.
