MB-Marion Hazelwood, Jr. Hazelwood became the fourth two-time All-Big 12 First Team honoree in program history. She hit .308 overall for the season, including a .321 attack rate against AVCA nationally ranked opponents.
MB-Micaela Spann, Sr. A four-year starter in the middle for the Sooners, Spann is a first-time All-Big 12 selection. She hit .370 for the year, which ranks fourth best all-time at OU in a single season.

IRVING, Texas – University of Oklahoma volleyball middle blockers Marion Hazelwood and Micaela Spann were both selected to the All-Big 12 Team as voted on by the league's coaches and announced on Monday afternoon. Hazelwood earned an All-Big 12 First Team nod, while Spann was chosen for the All-Big 12 Second Team.

Hazelwood, a junior from Beach City, Texas, is a repeat honoree on the First Team as she was a unanimous selection a year ago. She is a two-time AVCA All-Southwest and All-America Honorable Mention as well as a 2014 All-Big 12 Freshman Team pick. This season, Hazelwood hit .308 with a career-best 2.63 kills and 1.22 blocks per set. Against AVCA nationally ranked teams, she hit .321 with 2.79 kills per set, including a career-high 19 against No. 5 Texas.

Hazelwood is just the fourth player in program history to earn multiple All-Big 12 First Team selections. Sallie McLaurin (2012, 2013) was the last to do so and was preceded by Brianne Barker ('10, '11) and Suzy Boulavsky ('10, '11).

Heading into her senior season, Hazelwood has posted 753 kills and 344 total blocks, which moved her into eighth all-time at Oklahoma.

Spann, a senior and four-year starter from Carrollton, Texas, received her first career postseason award. She ranked second in the Big 12 with a career-best .370 hitting percentage; ranking fourth best all-time by a Sooner and second best in the 25-point, rally-scoring era. Spann added a career-best 2.49 kills per set along with 0.74 blocks. She finishes her career with 820 kills and 383 total blocks, which ranks seventh all-time at OU. Spann also ranks 10^th all-time at OU with a .290 career hitting percentage.

Earlier this month, Spann was recognized as a member of the 2016 Academic All-Big 12 Team. She became the Sooners' first three-time First Team selection for student-athletes maintaining a cumulative 3.20 grade-point average or higher since McLaurin in 2013. Hazelwood was also honored as an Academic All-Big 12 Second Team selection for the season year in a row.

Oklahoma finished the season at 14-15 overall and 5-11 in the Big 12.
