AMES, Iowa – The University of Oklahoma volleyball team was swept by Iowa State at Hilton Coliseum in its season finale on Saturday night. The Sooners finished the season at 14-15 overall and 5-10 in the Big 12, while the Cyclones improved to 18-10 and 10-6.
The straight-sets loss came by scores ot 19-25, 22-25 and 14-25.
Iowa State hit .441 for the match, while Oklahoma hit .277. Jess Schaben led the Cyclones with 12 kills on a .333 attack rate. Senior outside hitter Kimmy Gardiner (Grapevine, Texas) led the Sooners with 10 kills on a .471 hitting percentage.
Samara West hit .600 with nine kills without an error for ISU and Grace Lazard added an additional nine kills with a .583 attack rate. OU junior middle blocker Marion Hazelwood (Beach City, Texas) and senior middle blocker Micaela Spann (Carrolton, Texas) each posted eight kills as Spann hit a team-high .538.
Sooner sophomore setter Audrey Alford (Norman, Okla.) collected a match-high 35 assists. Monique Harris and Suzanne Horner each passed out 20 for the Cyclones. ISU's Hali Hillegas led all players with 10 digs.
