PROVO, Utah – No. 16 Oklahoma used a furious fourth-quarter comeback to down BYU, 68-61, on the road Saturday at the Marriott Center.

Down seven entering the fourth quarter, the Sooners (3-0) outscored the Cougars (2-1) by a 21-7 margin to pull off the comeback. OU's defense held BYU to just 2-of-15 shooting in the fourth quarter as Peyton Little scored nine of her team-high 16 points in the frame. The redshirt senior was 6-of-14 from the field, adding in three steals and a pair of rebounds.

Maddie Manning scored 11 points, all in the second half, while Vionise Pierre-Louis finished with nine points and a season-high 13 rebounds. Manning tied her career-high with three 3-pointers in the victory. Gabbi Ortiz paced OU's offense with a season-high seven assists and chipped in eight rebounds.

“I thought we showed a lot of grit with our back against the wall in a tough environment and in a very physical game," OU head coach Sherri Coale said. "I thought our response was fantastic, especially for a game this early in the year. It's how you respond when things don't go your way and I thought our guys responded tonight with big plays when we needed them most.”

OU jumped out to a 20-8 first-quarter lead as Little scored the Sooners' first five points of the game, but a 15-0 BYU run to open the second quarter gave the Cougars a 34-31 halftime lead.

Down 57-54 with 6:31 to play, the Sooners held BYU scoreless from the field until there was 0:10 left in the game. The Cougars missed their final seven shots as OU record five steals and forced six BYU turnovers during the crucial stretch.

Little's layup at the 5:54 mark pulled the Sooners to within one and a Pierre-Louis lay-in on the next possession put OU in the lead for good. OU sealed the game as it hit 7-of-8 from the free throw line during the final 0:45 to earn the win.

Cassie Broadhead led the Cougars with 18 points on 6-of -14 shooting, while Makenzi Pulsipher added in 15 points.

BYU outshot the Sooners by a .349 to .338 clip. OU hit a season-high seven 3-pointers, posting a .318 percentage from beyond the arc. OU won the rebounding margin, 56-41, and pulled down a season-high 20 offensive rebounds.
