NORMAN — The No. 24 Oklahoma soccer team concludes its regular season with a road conference match at Texas Tech on Friday. The match is slated for a 7 p.m. CT start in Lubbock, Texas.
CLOSING STRONG
OU heads to Lubbock, Texas, on Friday for a Big 12 showdown against Texas Tech as it looks to finish its regular season slate with another victory. Currently, the Sooners hold a 4-2-1 record in conference competitions and will look to match the school record for Big 12 wins (five in 2005 and 2010). The match will stream through TexasTech.tv (subscription required).
CHASING HISTORY
With 12 wins this season, the Sooners have the opportunity to match the school record for victories (13 in 2005) if they secure a win at Texas Tech on Friday night. The 12 victories already represent the most for a Sooner squad under head coach Matt Potter.
SHUTOUT STADE
So far this season, redshirt senior Kassidie Stade and the OU defense have tallied seven shutouts, including three in Big 12 play. This ties Stade for the OU single-season record of seven (Stade, 2015; Jennifer Nichols, 2005 and 2006) and brings her career total to 18, matching Catherine Wade (2001-04) for the most in program history.
ROAD TRIP
Away from Norman this season, the Sooners have won eight matches, posting a 7-2-0 overall record in road games and a 1-0-0 mark in neutral site contests. From Sept. 4 - Sept. 18, OU tallied five straight victories, marking the first time the Sooners have ever won five consecutive matches away from John Crain Field. Additionally, the seven true road wins are the most in a single year for the Sooners (won five in 2004, 2010), and the eight total away wins are a program record (had seven in 2010).
RPI UPDATE
The Sooners jumped four spots in this week's NCAA Women's RPI, moving to No. 5, their highest of the season. OU has been ranked in the top nine in each of the five listings. West Virginia leads the Big 12 at No. 2, and the seven other conference squads also find themselves within the top 70 in Kansas (No. 21), Iowa State (No. 34), Oklahoma State (No. 55), Texas Tech (No. 56), TCU (No. 60), Texas (No. 69) and Baylor (No. 70).
KANSAS CITY BOUND
Currently sitting in a tie for third in the conference standings, the Sooners have secured one of eight berths in the Big 12 Championships, scheduled for Nov. 2-6 in Kansas City, Mo., but their seed is to be determined. Along with OU, West Virginia, Kansas, Baylor, Iowa State and Oklahoma State have all guaranteed their spots at the tournament. TCU, Texas and Texas Tech will be vying for the final two slots, with the Horned Frogs and Longhorns set to face each other on Friday.
20 YEARS OF OKLAHOMA SOCCER
This season, the Sooners are celebrating 20 years of the OU soccer program, which was founded in 1996.

• Redshirt senior goalkeeper Kassidie Stade tallied her seventh shutout of the season and 18th of her career on Sunday, matching the school records for both.
• Against Kansas, Liz Keester and Madison Saliba generated all of OU's offense on their senior night, with both notching a goal and assisting on each other's scores.
• Redshirt freshman forward/midfielder Kyle Escobedo tallied a late goal in the 89th minute off a through ball up the middle from Keester to give the Sooners the 1-0 win at CSUN. The goal was the first of Escobedo's career, while Keester added her sixth assist of the season.
