Sooners Head to Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate

NORMAN – The No. 8 Oklahoma men's golf team returns to action this weekend at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate. The three-day, 54-hole tournament will take place Friday-Sunday (Oct. 21-23) at the Golf Club of Georgia in Alpharetta, Ga.
The 17-team field includes 10 squads currently ranked in the Golfstat top 25 and 14 in the top 35.
“This is the best field of the fall, so our best will be needed,” eighth-year OU head coach Ryan Hybl said. “Our guys are excited about the opportunity to showcase where we are in this caliber of field.”
The Sooners are coming off a fourth-place finish at the Nike Golf Collegiate Invitational. Sophomore Blaine Hale was OU's best finisher, tying for eighth to record his second consecutive top-10 finish.
OU's lineup for the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate will include senior Max McGreevy, juniors Grant Hirschman and Rylee Reinertson, Hale and classmate Brad Dalke.

2. Blaine Hale, Sophomore: Led the Sooners at the Nike Golf Collegiate, tying for eighth and recording his second consecutive top-10 showing … Finished with a share of fifth place in the Gopher Invitational, his best career finish and first top-five placing … Tied for 25th place in the Carmel Cup.

5. Brad Dalke, Sophomore: Most recently, finished with a share of 21st at the Nike Golf Collegiate Invitational … Tied for 35th at the Gopher Invitational … Earned his sixth top-20 placing after tying for 20th in the Carmel Cup … Runner-up at the 2016 U.S. Amateur … Represented Team USA at the World Amateur Team Championships Sept. 21-24, tying for 20th individually.
THE COURSE
The Golf Club of Georgia serves as the site for the tournament. The Club offers two par-72 courses: the 7,017-yard Lakeside Course and the 7,039-yard Creekside Course. Half of the field will play on the Lakeside Course while the other half will compete on the Creekside Course on Friday. On Saturday, the two groups will switch. In the final round, all 17 teams and individuals will play the Lakeside Course.
FORMAT
Fifty-four holes will be played over three days. The first round will begin Friday morning at 8 CT, and the Sooners will begin teeing off at 9 a.m. CT on the Creekside Course.

OU'S GOLF CLUB OF GEORGIA COLLEGIATE HISTORY
This marks the Sooners' second straight appearance in the tournament, which was called the U.S. Collegiate Championship until this season. Last year, OU placed ninth with a three-round 874 (+10), and Hirschman and Dalke both earned top-20 finishes.
