NORMAN Senior midfielder/forward Madison Saliba had a hand in both of the Oklahoma soccer team's goals at Oklahoma State last Friday night, earning her Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week accolades, the conference announced Tuesday.

The Broken Arrow, Okla., native sent a corner kick into the box that led to an own goal and OU's first score in the 21st minute against its in-state rival. In the 48th minute, Saliba added her third goal of the season as she whipped in a free kick from just outside the left corner of the box through OSU's back line and into the net. Saliba's three goals are her single-season career best.

The senior's efforts helped the Sooners to their fourth straight Bedlam victory and fifth in the last six contests in the series. Saliba is the second Sooner to earn Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week recognition this season, joining senior Liz Keester, who received the honor on Sept. 20.

Next up, the Sooners will play a split weekend, hosting Kansas at 7 p.m. CT on Friday before heading to Northridge, Calif., to play a non-conference contest against Cal State Northridge at 1:30 p.m. CT on Sunday.

Friday night's match will serve as OU's regular season home finale and Senior Night. Saliba, along with classmates Jemma Cota, Keester, Caren Nelson, Shiloh Price, Rachel Ressler and Kassidie Stade, will be recognized for their contributions to the OU soccer program.
