NORMAN – The No. 19/19 Oklahoma women's basketball team used a balanced offensive attack to roll to a dominant 92-53 victory on Wednesday morning against Texas Tech inside Lloyd Noble Center. OU hosted more than 7,500 third to sixth graders from across the state of Oklahoma for Sooner Jr. Fan Field Trip Day.
Thirteen Sooners (13-4, 4-2 Big 12) scored as OU, who led the entire game, reached a season-high point total in the contest against the Lady Raiders (10-8, 1-6 Big 12). The 92 points are also the third-most the Sooners have ever scored against Texas Tech in series history.
“I was really pleased with our tempo; I thought we pushed it really well. We had a lot of energy – it's hard not to have a lot of energy when you have 8,000 screaming kids in the arena with you," head coach Sherri Coale said following the win. We liked that a lot and appreciate all of the elementary schools for being a part of the program and we appreciate our marketing department for pouring so much of themselves into making this day happen. There's a lot of work that goes in behind the scenes for that and it was fun to play in front of them."
OU's offensive performance ranks as one of the best in the Big 12 this year. The Sooners' 92 points are most scored in a conference game this season. OU's margin of victory (39 points), field goals made (36) and shooting percentage (57.1 percent) against the Lady Raiders are rank as the best among Big 12 teams in league contests so far this year.
Pacing the Sooners was Kaylon Williams, who scored 18 points on 8-of-10 shooting. In the third quarter, the redshirt senior topped the 1,000-point mark for her career, becoming the 31st player in program history to reach the milestone. Williams also grabbed six rebounds, which tied with teammate T'ona Edwards for a game high. She added a career-high four assists (matched sophomore Gabbi Ortiz for most in the game) and a steal.

Three other Sooners also scored in double figures, including redshirt junior Maddie Manning (14 points), junior Gioya Carter (13) and Ortiz (10). It was Carter's best performance of the season after missing the first 11 games of the year due to' injury.
Redshirt junior Peyton Little chipped in nine points, three rebounds, two assists and a steal, while junior Derica Wyatt contributed eight points off the bench. OU's bench poured in 28 points and the Sooners scored 48 of their 92 points off baskets in the paint.
Throughout the game, the Sooners were hot from the floor, going 36-of-63 (.571) from the field and 8-of-19 (.421) from behind the arc. OU's defense locked down the Lady Raiders, holding them to 19-of-50 shooting (.380) and 5-of-16 from 3-point range (.313) and forcing 20 turnovers. Texas Tech entered the contest averaging 70.6 points per game
From tipoff, the Sooners controlled the momentum, storming to a 30-6 lead after the first quarter. During the last 6:06 of the frame, OU went on an 18-0 run to hold a comfortable advantage. At half, OU led 48-28 and went on to outscore the Lady Raiders in both the third and fourth quarters.
