AUSTIN, TEXAS (AP) –  Imani Boyette had 18 points, 11 rebounds and seven blocks as No. 6 Texas defeated No. 19 Oklahoma 83-76 on Saturday.

“Well, Texas is the No. 6  team in the country for a reason," OU head coach Sherri Coale said. "They are very difficult to contend with, their speed and athleticism in the perimeter and their size in the post. I was incredibly proud of our bigs today. I thought they accepted the challenge of going up against probably the best center in the game right now, and I thought they handled themselves in a terrific way. I was really pleased with our interior production. I thought we made Texas play really well today. We made them earn it.”

Empress Davenport also scored 18 points for Texas. The Longhorns, who led by 14 points in the third quarter, won despite committing 25 turnovers.

Sophmore center Vionise Pierre-Louis led Oklahoma with a career-best 23 points and a team-high six rebounds, and Peyton Little scored 16. Kaylon Williams chipped in 13 points, while Derica Wyatt knocked down three 3-pointers and finished with 11.

Oklahoma trailed by three after Wyatt made a 3-pointer with 16 seconds remaining, but Texas responded with a breakaway layup by Brooke McCarty.

Texas (18-1, 7-1 Big 12) used a 27-point second quarter to lead 43-34 at halftime. Both teams were sloppy during the half, with Texas committing 14 turnovers and Oklahoma 12.

The difference was that the Longhorns shot accurately, 48.6 percent. The Sooners (13-5, 4-3) hit 37 percent in the half and missed 11 of 12 3-point attempts.
