NORMAN — Kickoff for the 2016 OU Spring Game presented by U.S. Fleet Tracking is set for 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 9 at Gaylord Family - Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.
OU Football season ticket holders will receive information on how they can reserve their free tickets for the contest with their 2016 ticket renewal packet. The deadline for all Sooner Club donations and season ticket renewals is March 31, 2016.
Season ticket holders are eligible to request the same number of seats for the OU Spring Game as they have for regular season games. University of Oklahoma students will also receive free admission to the game by showing a current OU ID at the gate. OU Kids Club members will also receive complimentary admission.
OU Spring Game tickets will be available for purchase on Wednesday, Jan. 20, beginning at 8 a.m. CT. Fans can purchase $5 seats online here or by calling the OU Athletics Ticket Office at (405) 325-2424 or toll free at (800) 456-4668 (online purchases subject to nominal convenience fee at time of purchase). The price will increase to $10 on April 1. Additional fees may apply.
All seating is general admission for the Spring Game. All normal game entry policies remain in place for the Spring Game relative to permitted items. Campus parking lots will be open and free of charge for fans.
The day's festivities begin at 8 a.m. with the annual OU Spring Sale in McCasland Field House with vendors including the OU Bookstore, the OU Equipment Room and retail outlets selling a wide variety of apparel and Sooners' merchandise.
Fans will be able to purchase tailgating cuisine (including hamburgers, hot dogs, brats and Head Country BBQ pulled pork) from some of the area's top vendors, as well as enjoy live music, sponsor interactives and the GoVision Jumbotron at the Spring Game Tailgate Party presented by Homeland. Amusement rides for kids will also be available.
Fans can once again help design the field for the OU Spring Game. Fans should click here to select various choices for paint schemes to be utilized for the end zones and midfield. One fan will be randomly selected to win a VIP experience that includes field passes and a pregame photo session highlighting their field design choice. Fans can download the Sooner Rewards app for free on iTunes or Google Play.
The OU Spring Game will also salute the Sooner Jr. program with partnering elementary schools across the State. Students in selected school districts will receive a flyer at school that can be redeemed for one complimentary admission for a student and up to three guests. Students can present this flyer at Gate 5 between 12:30 p.m. and kickoff on game day.
At 10 a.m. the Sooner Jr. Kids Zone opens in the McCasland Field House parking lot with kids' carnival rides. Sooner Jr. will have interactive games throughout the morning promoting F.A.N.S. - Fitness Fun, Academics, Nutrition and Sportsmanship. The Sooner Schooner will be on display for pictures with Boomer and Sooner. The OU Spirit Squad will be signing autographs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Fans will be able to show their Spring Game ticket at the OU baseball game vs. Baylor and receive a discount. Watch SoonerSports.com for the game time and ticket discount information as it becomes available.
The OU Spring Game will be televised by FOX Sports Oklahoma with Chad McKee (play-by-play), Dusty Dvoracek (analyst) and Jessica Coody (sideline reporter) announcing.
