After appearing in just one set over the first six matches of the season, Enneking found herself in the lineup Thursday at New Mexico State. She reached double figures in kills in all three matches, including a high of 12 vs. the Aggies.

IRVING, Texas – University of Oklahoma volleyball freshman Alyssa Enneking has been named the Big 12 Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. Enneking, an outside hitter from League City, Texas, claimed the first weekly away of her career and the first of the season for the Sooners.

Enneking made the first start of her career on Thursday and remained in the lineup all weekend for Oklahoma, which went 3-0 at the Borderland Invitational. She reached double digits in kills in all three contests, totaling 32 and hitting .291, while averaging 2.67 kills per set. Enneking tied for the team-lead in a five-set win over New Mexico State on Thursday with 12 kills on a .345 attack rate. Against Denver and UTEP, she added 10 kills in each match. For the week, she total 23 digs, averaged 1.92 per set and added three blocks and two assists.

Prior to this weekend, Enneking had appeared in just one set throughout the Sooners' first six matches.

Last season, Oklahoma claimed five weekly awards with Marion Hazelwood earning the team's only Rookie of the Week honor. Julia Doyle (2012) and Sallie McLaurin (2010) hold the OU record for Rookie of the Week awards with three each.
