NORMAN, Okla. – The University of Oklahoma football program announced Monday that the 2015 season opener against Akron on Sept. 5 will kick off at 6 p.m. CT at Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.
The game against the Zips will be televised on a pay-per-view basis by FOX Sports Oklahoma.
A list of participating program providers offering the OU-Akron pay-per-view telecast and other details will be announced at a later date.
The 2015 opener will mark OU's first-ever meeting on the gridiron against Akron. The Sooners are 2-0 in previous games against Mid-American Conference teams. OU beat Bowling Green 40-24 on Sept. 4, 2004, and handled Ball State 62-6 on Oct. 1, 2011. Both games were played at Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.
