NORMAN, Okla. – The University of Oklahoma baseball team was represented by Kolbey Carpenter (Waco, Texas) and Anthony Hermelyn (McKinney, Texas) on the ABCA All-Midwest Region First Team as voted on by the region's coaches. Carpenter and Hermelyn each ended the regular season as All-Big 12 First Team selections.

The Sooner duo is the third straight to earn ABCA All-Region honors. Carpenter, the All-Region second baseman, hit a team-high .360 on the season with eight home runs, 49 runs, 37 RBI and a .533 slugging percentage. He was named the Big 12 Player of the Week on three occasions and the Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week on February 23. Carpenter was drafted by the Houston Astros in the 33rd round with the 979th overall pick.

Hermelyn earned All-Region honors at catcher despite splitting his time behind the dish with first base. As the OU clean-up hitter, he hit .321 with six home run, a team-leading 49 RBI, 12 doubles and a .453 slugging percentage. Hermelyn was recognized as the Big 12 Player of the Week on April 6. On Tuesday, he became the Sooners top draft pick of 2015 as a fourth round selection of the Houston Astros. Going 109th overall, Hermelyn became Oklahoma's highest drafted position player since Jackson Williams went in the first round in 2007. He is the fourth OU catcher to earn All-Region honors since 2009.

Oklahoma has had at least one player on the ABCA All-Region team every year since 2009 and multiple honorees in five of the last seven years, including three in a row.
