NORMAN, Okla. – University of Oklahoma head volleyball coach Santiago Restrepo is slated to be inducted into the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) Hall of Fame at Penn State University on Friday, May 1, adding another honor to his already decorated volleyball career.

Restrepo, a native of Bogota, Colombia, is in his 11^th season with the Sooners and has over 20 years of coaching history dating back to 1994, where he began his coaching career at his alma mater, East Stroudsburg University. His time at East Stroudsburg included an overall mark of 32-2 in 1996, a school record, earning him Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference's coach of the year award.

Restrepo's coaching career continued with stops at Saint Louis and Southern Mississippi, where he was the head coach from 2001-03. From there he was named the fourth head coach in OU history for the 2004 season.

Restrepo's success and consistency with the Sooners has led him to 209 wins in his time at Oklahoma, including eight NCAA tournament appearances and six in a row with five straight 20-win seasons. In 2014, the Sooners' 10-6 Big 12 record was tied for second in the conference and was highlighted by a 3-0 victory at No. 2 Texas. During his time at OU, the Sooners have totaled 16 All-Conference selections and 61 Academic All Big-12 awards. Restrepo has a staggering 336 wins and a .620 winning percentage in his illustrious coaching career.

As a player, Restrepo earned four All-Conference selections and was an All-American at East Stroudsburg University. After finishing his collegiate career, he played briefly in France before returning to play on the American Volleyball Players Beach Tour, playing against some of the world's best beach volleyball players.

The EIVA is a Division I men's volleyball conference, with seven current member schools throughout the northeast. East Stroudsburg was a long-time member of the conference, including during Restrepo's time at the school, before dropping its men's volleyball team in 2010. The EIVA Hall of Fame, who inducted its inaugural class just three years ago in 2012, has 12 current members.
