COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – University of Oklahoma volleyball assistant coach Kyle Robinson, who was introduced as the team's newest staff member of March 5, has been named the assistant coach for USA Volleyball at this summer's World University Games.

The games will be held July 2-12 in Gwangju, South Korea. The 12-player roster and coaching staff, which is headed by Florida's Mary Wise, was released by USA Volleyball on Tuesday afternoon. Robinson will be joined by fellow assistant Dan Thomassen from the Prime Volleyball Club in California.

Robinson has playing experience at the national level as a member of the U.S. National Team from March 2001 to June 2003.

Prior to his arrival in Norman, Robinson was the head coach at LIU Brooklyn, where he posted a 144-83 record with five NCAA Tournament appearances in seven season from 2008-14.

This marks the third straight summer that the Sooners will be represented at USA Volleyball. Setter Julia Doyle (2014) and outside hitter Kierra Holst (2013) each competed with the  in the last two seasons. Doyle led helped her USA CNT-Blue squad to a gold medal at the Girls' Junior National Championships in Minneapolis a year ago, while Holst competed with thw Women's Junior National Team at the FIVB World Championship in the Czech Republic two years ago.
