WOODLAND, Calif. – The Mountain Pacific Sports Federation announced on Tuesday evening that Oklahoma men's gymnastics sophomore Allan Bower has been named the MPSF Gymnast of the Week for his performance in OU's 449.500 to 425.700 win over Ohio State in the regular season finale.
Bower was consistent on all three events he competed on, including pommel horse, vault and parallel bars. The sophomore scored a 15 on all three apparatuses and won both the vault (15.350) and parallel bars (15.200) event titles. Bower also posted a mark of 15.050 on the pommel horse.
This honor marks the second time this season Bower has been named the MPSF Gymnast of the Week, with the first coming on Feb. 24 after being named to the U.S. Men's Senior National Team at the Winter Cup in Las Vegas, Nev.
Bower and the rest of the Oklahoma squad is now preparing for postseason action, as the Sooners look to defend their title at the MPSF Championships in Colorado Springs, Colo., on March 28 at 6 p.m. CT. After the conference championships, the Crimson and Cream return to Norman to host the NCAA Championships from April 9-11 at the Lloyd Noble Center. Tickets are available to purchase here.
