NORMAN – University of Oklahoma freshman Hannah Wood was named Golfweek's Player of the Week Tuesday after winning the Clover Cup, played at the par-72, 6,184-yard Longbow Golf Club in Mesa, Ariz.

Wood, who claimed the first individual title of her career, fired a three-round 209 (-7) at the Clover Cup, good for a two-shot victory. The Centennial, Colo., native has posted four top-20 and two top-10 finishes this season.

“It's such an honor being recognized as the Golfweek Player of the Week,” Wood said. “I had a great time playing this weekend, and I learned a lot about myself as a player. I couldn't be more excited for the rest of the spring!”

Wood and the Sooners return to the course Wednesday, March 18, for a match-play event with Texas A&M.
