Weather Forces Softball to Alter Schedule
February 25, 2015 | Softball
NORMAN – Due to cold temperatures and snowy conditions in the forecast, the No. 6/4 Oklahoma softball team will not be hosting its home opener this weekend.
Instead, the team will travel to Houston, Texas, for four games at the Scrap Yard. The Sooners will play two games each on Saturday and Sunday.
OU will open on Saturday at 3 p.m. against IPFW before facing North Texas at 5:15 p.m. Then on Sunday, Oklahoma plays IPFW again at 10 a.m. before closing the weekend out with North Texas at 12:15 p.m.
Fans will be charged a $20 gate fee per vehicle for the weekend. If fans come Sunday only without a pass, they will be charged $10.
All four games this weekend are scheduled to be webcasted online at SoonerSports.tv with a premium subscription. All four games can be heard on 1560 AM in Norman/Oklahoma City, while KREF 1400 AM in Norman will also have radio coverage for Sunday's games.
For fans that had tickets for this weekend's games in Norman, they may be used as a general admission ticket to any future 2015 home contest, except for the Oklahoma State game on May 9. Please contact the OU Athletics Ticket Office at 405-325-2424 or (800) 456-GoOU with any further questions.
With the altered schedule, Oklahoma's home opener is now slated for Saturday, March 7 against Missouri State.
