The overtime game was the fourth of the season for the Sooners and the second in Big 12 play. Oklahoma is now 1-3 in overtime contests.
Oklahoma and Iowa State split the series this regular season. The Sooners defeated the Cyclones in Norman 75-66, Feb. 4.
Redshirt sophomore Peyton Little led Oklahoma in scoring for the seventh consecutive game. She finished with a career-tying high 22 points. Over the last seven games, Little has averaged 19.0 points, 21 of her 45 field goals have been 3-pointers and sank 22-of-23 from the charity stripe.
Senior Sharane Campbell-Olds registered her third double-digit point performance of Big 12 play and the first in eight games. Campbell-Olds finished with 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting, including 5-of-7 accuracy from 3-point land. The five 3-pointers tied a career-high for the guard. She hit five 3-pointers one other time in her career (2012-13 vs. TCU 1/30/13).
Sharane Campbell-Olds hit three 3-pointers in a row between the 7:07 mark of the second and the 5:33 mark. The barrage of long-balls turned an Iowa State four point advantage to an Oklahoma five point lead (66-61) with 5:33 to play in regulation.
It is the third consecutive game that the Sooners have had a player hit five 3-pointers. Peyton Little sank five 3-pointers against both Baylor and TCU.
The Sooners ended the game sinking 14 3-pointers, including eight in the second half. The 14 3-pointers is a season-high and the most since they hit 17 against Oregon Nov. 24, 2012.
Freshman point guard Gabbi Ortiz passed out eight assists in 41 minutes of play. The eight assists ties a career-high.
Oklahoma was held without a field goal for the final 2:30 of regulation and all of the overtime period. The Sooners missed their final four shots in regulation and five shots in overtime. Their final six points came from the charity stripe.
Iowa State missed seven of 12 free throws in the final 5:22 of regulation. In overtime, the Cyclones hit 9-of-10.
Oklahoma was called for 26 fouls. Iowa State 17. The Sooners were 12-of-19 from the charity stripe. The Cyclones 23-of-33.
Oklahoma was credited with 20 assists on 25 baskets. It is the fifth game this season Oklahoma has passed out 20-plus assists and second-straight.
OU had three players foul out: Kaylon Williams (2:17 2nd half), Sharane Campbell-Olds (3:13 OT) and Maddie Manning (:14 OT). It was the seventh game Williams has fouled out in this year, the fourth for Campbell-Olds and Manning's second.
Ankeny, Iowa native Maddie Manning made her first appearance at the Hilton Coliseum. She had 10 points – her third double-figure performance of the season – along with five rebounds, one assist and one block.
