NORMAN Oklahoma soccer junior defender Rachel Ressler and freshman forward/midfielder Kaylee Dao have captured All-Big 12 honors, the conference announced Monday. Ressler was named to the second team, while Dao was placed on the freshman team.

This season, Ressler has started all 19 of the Sooners' matches, logging a total of 1,492 minutes. Ressler has been a key component of an OU defense that holds a mark of 0.75 goals against average (currently the best in program history) and eight shutouts. In OU's home opener against Little Rock on Aug. 30, Ressler recorded a goal in the 50th minute as the Sooners went on to win, 4-0.

In her freshman campaign, Dao has tallied four goals, second most on the team, and one assist for a total of nine points. Dao's first career goal came at Oklahoma State on Aug. 28 a mere 18 seconds into the match, marking the second-fastest score in OU history. Dao was named the Big 12 Freshman of the Week after recording game-winning goals in back-to-back contests at Oral Roberts and Illinois State.

The Sooners will open postseason play on Wednesday in Kansas City, Mo., facing No. 5 seed Texas Tech at 2 p.m. CT. Earlier this season, OU and the Red Raiders played to a 0-0, double overtime draw in Norman. The match will broadcast live on the Big 12 Digital Network, with the winner advancing to semifinal play on Friday.
