Jones Comes Through in Relief for Pittsburgh
Landry Jones made his NFL debut in Week 6 as an injury replacement, then made his first NFL start in a Week 7 loss to Kansas City. He went back to the bench in Week 8 as Ben Roethlisberger returned to his starting role.
In Week 9 against Oakland, Pittsburgh led the Raiders 35-28 with 7:30 minutes to play went Roethlisberger went down with an injury. Jones' first drive in relief started promising but it was derailed by a pair of penalties.
Oakland tied the game up with less than two minutes to play, and Pittsburgh took over at its own 20. Facing a third-and-2, Jones hit Antonio Brown for a 57-yard gain to set up a game-winning field goal with just two seconds left to play.
Jones finished the game 4-6 for 79 yards and will be the starter going forward until Roethlisberger is cleared to play.
In the loss for Oakland, linebacker Curtis Lofton made four tackles, while Stacy McGee had one stop.
Bradford, Murray Help Eagles to Overtime Win
Philadelphia evened its season record at 4-4 thanks to a 33-27, overtime win over Dallas Sunday night.
Sam Bradford threw for 295 yards as he completed 25 of 36 passes and threw the game-winning touchdown in overtime, while DeMarco Murray ran for 83 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries and caught six passes for 78 additional yards against his former team.
Also for the Eagles, Lane Johnson made his first career start at left tackle, though it wasn't completely foreign to him as he did make 11 starts at the position for Oklahoma in 2012.
In the loss, tight end James Hanna was targeted once by the Cowboys.
