Round-Three Results

NORMAN – The University of Oklahoma women's golf team finished Tuesday's final round of the 2015 Alamo Invitational in 13th place. The tournament, which featured three teams in Golfweek's top 20, was played at the par-72, 6,450-yard Briggs Ranch Golf Club in San Antonio, Texas.

OU registered a 298 (+10) on Tuesday, which marked the last round of its fall slate. No. 20-ranked Florida dominated the 15-team leaderboard, logging an 858 (-6). The Gators were the only team to complete the tournament under par and finished 12 strokes ahead of second-place and No. 7 Arkansas (+6). Texas Tech took third place at 879 (+15).

Hannah Wood led the Sooners in the round and the event, firing a 70 (-2) on Tuesday to finish tied for fourth place out of 78 competitors with a three-round 216 (E). The two-under-par round marked Wood's eighth par-or-better round this season. The sophomore completed all four fall tournaments with top-20 finishes, including two top-five appearances.

"This season definitely gave me a boost of confidence for our spring season," Wood said. "I've used the lessons and experiences I had from last year and tried to make something work for this season. I'm happy with how this season went, but of course, there's no such thing as offseason, and I'm going to continue working really hard."

Sophomores Rylee Pedigo and Valerie Tanguay tied for 42nd place, each carding a 226 (+10). Pedigo shot a 77 (+5) on the day, while Tanguay recorded a tournament-personal-best 73 (+1).

OU sophomore Ana Ruiz shot a 78 (+6) on Tuesday to finish in 68th place with a three-round 233 (+17), while junior Maggie Neece shared 76th place with a 240 (+24) after tallying an 80 (+8) in the final round.

“Hannah (Wood) played solid again this week. She had a fantastic fall for us,” seventh-year OU Head Coach Veronique Drouin-Luttrell said. “I'm really proud of how she has worked hard all summer and it's paying off for her.

“We have a big offseason ahead of us and need to work on our weaknesses. We have a lot of talent on this team and need to help each other get better. We have a plan and hopefully we will be able to capitalize over the winter.”

The Sooners will return to the course in the spring for the Hurricane Invitational, slated for Feb. 29-March 2 in Miami, Fla.
