Following a pair of road matches in the Lone Star State next week, the Sooners return home to face the Wildcats on Friday, October 16. It will be "Military Appreciation Night" with $4 tickets for active duty and retired military and their families.

NORMAN, Okla. – It's “Fan Appreciation Night” at McCasland Field House as Oklahoma volleyball hosts Baylor at 7:00 pm on Saturday, October 3. Admission is free to all fans.

Oklahoma is 6-8 overall and off to a 0-2 start in the Big 12 for the first time since 2005. Redshirt-junior outside hitter Madison Ward leads the OU attack with a 3.17 kills per set average, while adding five double-double and 2.07 digs per set. Since the beginning of conference play she is averaging 3.78 kills per set and hitting .284. Sophomore middle blocker Marion Hazelwood is at 1.71 kills per set and swinging at a .303 attack rate overall, but has upped her numbers to 2.67 and .404 in league play. Junior middle blocker Micaela Spann is the team's leader in hitting percentage at .383 to go with 2.24 kills and a team-leading 1.17 blocks per set.

Baylor is off to a strong start under first-year head coach Ryan McGuyre at 12-3 overall. The Bears are 1-1 in Big 12 action following a sweep at the hands of Kansas State with a sweep of Texas Tech. Three players are averaging better than 2.50 kills per set; led by Katie Staiger at 2.91. Shelly Fanning (2.78) is hitting a team-best .296, while Andie Malloy (2.58) has contributed 2.68 digs per set.

Last Time They Met

No. 24 Oklahoma swept Baylor on the road to improve to 17-7 on November 8, 2014. Setter Julia Doyle dished out 30 assists and chipped in with six digs, five blocks and three service aces. Outside hitter Kierra Holst posted a match-high 15 kills on a .351 hitting percentage.

All-Time vs. Baylor

The Sooners own the all-time series against the Bears, 37-15. Oklahoma has won 11 of the last 12 matches dating back to 2008, with Baylor's lone win during that stretch coming in 2011 in Norman. The Bears won the first two matches of the series in 1976 and 1977, but the Sooners then rattled off the series' longest winning streak of eight matches from 1979-89.

Moving Up the Ladder

Doyle and Holst look to continue their climb up the OU record books this season. Doyle is the Big 12's active leader in career assists with 3,903. She ranks fifth all-time at Oklahoma after passing Rachel Jackson (2003-06). Holst is first among active Big 12 players with 1,153 career kills. She is currently 12th at Oklahoma after passing Bridget LaPlante (2006-09) last weekend. Holst now trails Margaret Page (1983-87) for 11th by 17.
