NORMAN, Okla. – Oklahoma volleyball's brief homestand continues Wednesday night with a 7:00 pm Big 12 match against TCU at McCasland Field House.

Oklahoma bounced back from back-to-back losses by coming from behind to upset No. 23 Kansas in its league opener on Saturday night. The Sooners stand at 10-4 overall and 1-0 in the Big 12, sitting three spots out of the AVCA Top-25 Coaches Poll. Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week, junior outside hitter Kierra Holst has emerged as the team's top offensive weapon. The Preseason All-Big 12 pick, leads OU at 3.17 kills per set and is hitting .258. Sophomore outside hitter Kimmy Gardiner is second on the team in both kills (2.76) and hitting percentage (.289). Freshman middle blocker Marion Hazelwood is hitting a team-high .319 and ranks fourth in kills (2.19). Junior setter Julia Doyle manages an offense that ranks third in the Big 12 in hitting at .265 with a 10.26 assists per set average.

Promotions: Wednesday night is the Oklahoma volleyball “Greek Challenge”. The group with the largest number of students in attendance will win a prize. The first 200 students in attendance will also receive free OU volleyball sunglasses. Free sno cones will be provided by Eskimo Sno in front of McCasland Field House from 6:30-7:30 pm. Free Raising Canes will also be available, while supplies last, and the match will also mark the third Canes Challenge of the season.

On the Air: The match will be broadcast by Sooner Sports TV and can be found on FOX Sports Southwest. Veteran OU broadcasters Chad McKee and Laura Alford return to call the action on the court.

1st Rotation – Scouting the Horned Frogs

TCU is 11-5 overall and 1-1 in conference. The Horned Frogs opened Big 12 play with a four-set loss at Texas Tech before upsetting Iowa State at home in four on Saturday afternoon. Outside hitter Ashley Smith leads the way with 2.98 kills per set, while hitting .274. Opposite hitter Stephanie Holland ranks second on the team at 2.57 kills per set and fellow opposite Blaire Pickens leads the Horned Frogs with a .352 attack rate on 1.69 kills per set.

2nd Rotation – Last Time They Met

Sallie McLaurin hit a match-high .476 and was one of four Sooners to tally 10 kills in a 3-0 win over TCU on November 13, 2013. The win snapped a season-high three-match losing streak for Oklahoma. The straight sets victory was the 10th of the season as it came by scores of 26-24, 25-22 and 25-18. Keila Rodriguez, Madison Ward and Holst also registered 10 kills for the Sooners. Holland led all players with 12 kills, while teammate Natalie Gower notched a match-high five blocks. Taylor Migliazzo posted a match-high 17 digs, while Doyle contributed 37 assists.

3rd Rotation – All-Time vs. TCU

 The Horned Frogs took the first match played between the two squads, 3-1, in 2004. Since then, the Sooners are unbeaten and lead the all-time series, 8-1. Oklahoma has swept the season series in each of TCU's first two seasons in the Big 12.

4th Rotation – Player of the Week

Holst earned her first career weekly award as the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week on September 29. She tallied a career-high 23 kills and hit .378 in a five-set win over No. 23 Kansas. Holst notched eight kills and hit .727 in a crucial fourth set that proved to be the turning point in Oklahoma's victory.

5th Rotation – Five-Setters

The Sooners dropped each of their first two five-set matches to No. 10 Florida and SMU. Since, OU has earned five-set wins over CSUN (9/10), in its home opener, and against No. 23 Kansas (9/27) in its Big 12 opener. Oklahoma is hitting just .243 in five-set matches and .260 in the fifth set.

6th Rotation – Big 12 Openers

Oklahoma opened conference play with a 3-2 win over No. 23 Kansas on September 27. The Sooners are now 10-9 in Big 12 openers dating back to the league's inaugural season in 1996. Oklahoma has won each of its last nine since the 2006 season and is 8-2 under Santiago Restrepo. In home Big 12 openers, OU is 11-8; having won each of its last seven.

Bonus – Against the Ranked

The Sooners picked up their first win over a ranked opponent in 2014 with a five-set win over No. 23 Kansas (9/27). Oklahoma is 1-2 against the AVCA Top-25, including a five-set loss at No. 10 Florida (8/30) and a four-set loss at No. 13 North Carolina (9/19). The Sooners went 3-4 against ranked opponents in 2013. Oklahoma registered wins over No. 25 BYU (9/7/13), No. 25 Iowa State (10/5/13) and No. 21 Kansas (11/30/13). At home, the Sooners went 2-1 against ranked opponents.
