The Oklahoma women's gymnastics team is inviting fans to attend the squad's first open practice of the fall this Saturday in Norman. The practice will run from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Sam Viersen Gymnastics Center and is free and open to the public.
Fans in attendance will be able to get the first look at the defending NCAA champion Sooners and their preparations for the 2015 season. Team members will be training skills and choreography on all four events during the practice.
Student-athletes will be available following practice to sign autographs and visit with fans in attendance. Free photo schedules and national championship posters will also be available to those in attendance. Season ticket forms will be available to those interested in signing up to watch the team in action in 2015.
Fans will have the chance to see 12 returners from the 2014 team in the gym, as well as four dynamic newcomers to the squad. OU returns a total of six gymnasts this season that have captured NCAA All-America honors during their careers.
The Sam Viersen Gymnastics Center is located north of the Lloyd Noble Center by the intersection of S. Jenkins Ave. and Imhoff Ave.
