Three Selected for the Pro Bowl

Three former Sooners were rewarded for their seasons as they were selected for the 2015 Pro Bowl, it was announced Tuesday night. DeMarco Murray, Gerald McCoy and Trent Williams were each chosen to play in the annual contest to be played in Glendale, Ariz., on Jan. 25 on ESPN.

The Pro Bowl selection was the second of Murray's career, and it marks the second straight invitation for him. He currently leads the NFL in rushing yards (1,745), rushing attempts (372), rushing attempts per game (24.8), rushing yards per game (116.3), rushing touchdowns (12), first-down rushes (83), runs of 20+ yards (14) and runs of 40+ yards (3). In addition, he has caught a career-high 54 passes for 395 yards.

McCoy is now a three-time Pro Bowl honoree, having been named to the game in each of the last three seasons. He posted 35 tackles, including 8.5 sacks, three passes defended and one forced fumble during the season, but was placed on injured reserve following Week 14.

Like McCoy, Williams has also made three career Pro Bowls, all of which have come in the last three seasons. Williams has played in and started 14 games this seasons at left tackle for Washington.

Oklahoma was one of six schools in all of college football to have three players selected to the Pro Bowl, and only Miami (4) had more selections.

Jalen Saunders caught the first pass of his career for seven yards and returned two kicks for 120 yards, including a 99-yarder on the game's first play, while Kenny Stills caught six passes for 68 yards and linebacker Curtis Lofton made five tackles, including a stop for a loss, but New Orleans was defeated by Atlanta, 30-14 … Jermaine Gresham caught a game-high nine passes for 62 yards, including a two-yard touchdown, as Cincinnati defeated Denver Monday night, 37-28 … Murray ran for 58 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries and James Hanna made one tackle on special teams as Dallas rolled over Indianapolis on Sunday night, 42-7 … running back Damien Williams caught a career-high six passes for 50 yards, including the first touchdown of his career, and rushed three times for 18 yards as Miami rallied past Minnesota, 37-35 … Aaron Colvin had a career-high seven tackles and broke up a pass as Jacksonville beat Tennessee Thursday night, 21-13 … defensive end David King got the first sack of his career as Seattle silenced Arizona, 35-6 … safety Tony Jefferson had seven tackles and forced a fumble for the Cardinals in the loss … Garrett Hartley made both field goal attempts, connecting from 43 and 31 yards, and an extra point as Cleveland lost to Carolina, 17-13 … Jamell Fleming had five tackles but Kansas City was beaten by Pittsburgh, 20-12 … Demontre Hurst started at cornerback for Chicago and made three tackles in a 20-14 loss to Detroit … Williams (left tackle), Chris Chester (right guard) started on the offensive line and Tress Way punted three times with an average of 44.3 yards per punt in a 27-24 win over Philadelphia Saturday … in a losing effort for the Eagles, Lane Johnson started at right tackle … Davin Joseph started at right guard for St. Louis in a 37-27 loss to the New York Giants
