NORMAN, Okla. – The University of Oklahoma baseball team's 12th Annual Diamond Dinner is scheduled for Saturday, February 7 at 7:00 pm. The banquet will take place at the Chesapeake Energy East Side Stadium Club at Memorial Stadium. The Sooner Baseball Family and head coach Pete Hughes will honor Oklahoma's newest Major Leaguers Chase Anderson and Jackson Williams.

The event serves as the first opportunity for fans and the community to be introduced to the 2015 Sooners in the week leading up to opening day. It is open to the public and tickets will be sold at $50 per person. All attendees must register beforehand. Walk-ups will not be permitted. To register, contact the OU baseball office at 405-325-8354. All ticket and sponsorship details can be found by clicking HERE.

The honorees, current Oklahoma baseball student-athletes and alumni will be available for an autograph session during the event. Attendees will also be the first to see a video preview of the 2015 Sooner season. There will also be a silent auction.

Anderson lettered twice at Oklahoma in 2008 and 2009 before being drafted in the ninth round by the Arizona Diamondbacks. He went 8-5 with a 5.01 earned run average, primarily out of the bullpen, across 115 career innings, while striking out 124. This season, Anderson made the jump from the Double-A Mobile Baybears to the Diamondbacks and made 21 starts in Arizona's rotation. He went 9-7 with a 4.01 ERA and 105 strikeouts. He started his stay in the Majors by becoming just the third pitcher to win each of his first five starts since 1998 and finished 10th in National League Rookie of the Year voting.

A three-year starter for the Sooners, Williams capped off his collegiate career as an All-Big 12 Second Team pick before becoming a first round pick (43rd overall) of the San Francisco Giants in 2007. He hit .300 over three years with 11 home runs, 108 RBI and 102 runs. He was signed as a free agent by the Rockies in November 2013 and had his first cup of coffee in the big leagues when he was called up on June 24, but did not see any action. He was recalled on August 27 and debuted that night behind the plate in the ninth inning. In seven games, Williams went 3-for-14 with a three-run home run against San Diego on September 7, the first of his career. In October, he was selected off waivers by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, where he will have a chance to play with former teammate Garrett Richards.
