Oklahoma vs. Baylor
Oct. 19 | 7 p.m. | Norman, Okla.
Player to Watch
Madeline Brem // Fr. // Defender
Brem has been an anchor on an Oklahoma back line that has surrendered only 10 goals to opponents this season. The true freshman notched a first half goal for OU against Baylor last weekend before the match was called due to rain and stats were subsequently abandoned.  Brem and the Sooner defense have notched six shutouts this season, while the true freshman has scored three additional goals.

SOONER NOTEBOOK: NOTES FOR WEEK NINE

1. REMATCH WEEKEND
Oklahoma soccer will face two familiar opponents this weekend with a road match at Oklahoma State and a home contest versus Baylor. OU opened the season against the Cowgirls, hanging OSU a 2-0 shutout loss. This will also be the second time the Sooners and Lady Bears have taken the field together after last weekend's contest was cancelled due to lightning. Oklahoma will look for a similar performance against Baylor this Sunday: OU held a 1-0 lead when the halftime cancellation nullified the score.

2. FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING
With a win on Friday, OU would capture its first Bedlam sweep of the Cowgirls since the teams began playing a home-and-home series annually in 2010. Oklahoma last weekend undefeated in the series in 2012, posting a win and a tie against OSU. OU's Bedlam record since then is 2-7-1 and it stands at 5-19-2 all-time. Oklahoma State enters Friday's match riding a two-game winning streak and having won eight of its last 10.

3. THE NEXT GENERATION
With her 28th-minute header goal against TCU, Chelsea Jackson became the third OU true freshman to net multiple goals in 2014. She followed up by taking home Big 12 Newcomer of the Week honors for her efforts. Oklahoma has now won six weekly conference awards, more than any other school in the Big 12. Of these, three have been won by newcomers and two have been captured by true freshmen.

4. SHUTTING IT DOWN
Oklahoma's defense has been stifling in 2014: the Sooners rank 26th nationally in goals against average at 0.66 per game. OU has posted six shutouts on the year, its most in a season since 2010 and three away from its all-time record of nine. Goalkeeper Kaitlyn Fahrner has posted four solo shutouts in the net this year.

5. IN THE BIG LEAGUES
OU has already doubled last year's conference win total with two victories in three matches. Oklahoma faces a challenging close to Big 12 play; its remaining opponents have a combined conference record of 12-5-3.
