NORMAN, Okla. – Oklahoma volleyball returns home to McCasland Field House for a 7:00 pm match-up with Texas Tech on Wednesday, October 15.

The Sooners have started league play 3-1 and are 12-5 overall. In the four conference matches, redshirt-sophomore outside hitter Madison Ward has been dominating the OU attack with a 4.31 kills per set average and .386 attack rate. On the season, she is averaging 2.94 and hitting .246. Junior outside hitter Kierra Holst is first on the team in kills per set at 3.26 to go with a .250 hitting percentage. Collectively, the Sooners are hitting .265 on the season, while holding opponents to .205. Junior setter Julia Doyle is averaging 10.37 assists per set and and has posted four consecutive double-doubles. Junior libero Taylor Migliazzo leads the OU defense with 3.48 digs per set, while sophomore middle blocker Micaela Spann leads the Sooners at the net with 0.87 blocks per set.

Promotions

Wednesday is “Military Appreciation Night”. Admission for active and retired military members and their families will be just $4. The first 200 students in attendance will receive aluminum water bottles. For the second straight home match, FREE Raising Canes will be available in the field house lobby, while supplies last.

The match will be broadcast by Sooner Sports TV and can be found on FOX Sports Oklahoma and FOX College Sports-Central. The “Voice of the Sooners” Toby Rowland and veteran OU volleyball broadcaster Laura Alford will be courtside to call the action.

Oklahoma is 6-0 at McCasland Field House this season, including a four-match sweep of the NIKE Invitational (9/10-13). During a span of seven NCAA Tournaments in eight years, the Sooners are 92-37 at their home floor. The Sooners set an average attendance record at 928 in 2013 and are averaging 779 so far in 2014.
