NORMAN, Okla. -- Currently the best men's gymnastics team in the nation, No. 1 Oklahoma is set to put on a show at 5 p.m. Saturday in the McCasland Field House against No. 10 Iowa.

OU maintained its perfect record and top ranking after a win at No. 7 Minnesota in its most recent meet. While the Sooners will take the victory, they are eager to take to the gym this Saturday to improve on an only so-so performance in Minneapolis.

Junior Kanji Oyama also returns this week for OU after staying home from the trip north due to illness. Oyama ranks fifth in the nation in the all-around and will give the Sooners a boost.

"We had to shuffle some things around without Kanji, but we should be back to even strength this week," said OU head coach Mark Williams. "We continue to have our sights set on competing our very best at the end of the season and to do that we need to keep improving every week."

The Sooners are the nation's top-ranked team for the third-straight week, holding a season average team score of 438.583, ahead of defending national champion Michigan's average of 435.275 in second.

Oklahoma is still the only team in the nation to score a 440.000 or higher in a meet, having done so twice. A solid week of practice before and a loud, packed McCasland Field House could get them yet another. The meet starts at 5 p.m. CT on Saturday, while fans who can't come out can watch live on FOX Sports Southwest or FOX College Sports Pacific.

The Sooners have continued to showcase the gymnastics they have become known for around the country that has led them to eight national titles and 20 conference championships. Currently OU is ranked first in the country as a team on floor and parallel bars; second on pommel horse, still rings and high bar; and sixth on vault.

"We're looking to do better on our last two events and put together a full meet," Williams said. "We're going to have to do six events strongly to compete with the best in the country."
