NORMAN, Okla. -- University of Oklahoma vice president for intercollegiate athletic programs and athletic director Joe Castiglione and head wrestling coach Mark Cody announced Oklahoma's 2013-14 schedule Monday.

The season is highlighted by two matchups with in-state rival Oklahoma State, the Big 12 Championship in Norman and the NCAA Championships in Oklahoma City.

“I think we used a good strategy laying down our schedule this year,” Cody said. “If everything goes right, this should help us prepare for a solid run in Oklahoma City in March.”

The Sooners will hold the annual Red/White Scrimmage at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29 at McCasland Field House before official competition begins Saturday, Nov. 2 against Shorter College. Details for the dual will be announced at a later date.

Two Bedlam duals are slated for this season, the first in Norman at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 1 and the second in Stillwater, Okla., on Sunday, Feb. 9.

OU's slate includes four additional home duals against Oklahoma City University (Nov. 5), Bucknell/Hofstra (Nov. 17), Northern Iowa (Jan. 19) and Missouri (Jan. 30).

On Nov. 3, OU will travel to Oklahoma City to participate in the OCU Open. The Sooners will then compete in the Brockport Classic on Nov. 9 in Brockport, N.Y., where they will seek their 15th consecutive title in the event.

Other road tournaments include the Oklahoma Open (Nov. 29-30), the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational (Dec. 6-7) and the National Duals (Feb. 16). OU will travel to Laramie, Wyo., on Thursday, Jan. 9, to face Wyoming and to Corvallis, Ore., on Saturday, Jan. 25 to compete with Oregon State.

Big 12 road matchups for OU this season include trips to Iowa State (Jan. 12) and West Virginia (Feb. 6).

Following regular-season action, the Sooners will host the Big 12 Championship Friday, March 7 and Saturday, March 8 in McCasland Field House. Then, OU will travel up Interstate 35 to Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City for the 2014 NCAA Championships, slated for March 20-22.

“For us, I think it will be an advantage having our two biggest tournaments right here in our own back yard,” Cody commented.
