Volleyball Announces Promotional Schedule

NORMAN, Okla. – The University of Oklahoma volleyball team kicks off its 2013 season against Arkansas at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, September 3. Rally towels will be given away to the first 250 freshman in attendance as the first of many gameday promotions run throughout the season. FREE FOOD from Raising Cane's will also be available for the first 100 students to see the Sooners take on the Razorbacks at McCasland Field House.

There will be FREE ADMISSION to matches against Iowa State (Oct. 5), West Virginia (Oct. 26) and Baylor (Nov. 16).

Promotion Schedule Highlights:

OU hosts Nebraska-Omaha, LIU Brooklyn and Miami in its annual NIKE Invitational, September 19-21. The weekend will serve as the Sooners' Youth Volleyball Team Weekend. The Friday night match against the Blackbirds will feature photos with the mascot, face painting, balloon animals, a sign making station and post-match autographs with the Sooners.

The first Fan Appreciation Day is scheduled for the match against Iowa State on October 5. Admission is free and there will be a drawing to perform the honorary first serve before the Baylor match on November 16. The match against Baylor will also be the second Fan Appreciation Day; featuring a giveaway of 250 stadium cups, while also being free admission.

Halloween, doubling as Faculty and Staff Night, comes early at McCasland when Oklahoma hosts West Virginia on October 26. Fans are encouraged to come to the match in costume. Kids in costume will receive a coupon for free candy at the concession stand.

FREE T-SHIRTS will be given out to the first 1,000 fans when the defending champion Texas Longhorns come to town on November 2. The Sooners will be raising money as they Pledge for a Cure to help raise funds for OU Children's Hospital and awareness for acute lymphoblastic leukemia. There will also be a drawing for students to win a prize item from the OU IT Store.
