Considered OU's big-play man, Billy Brooks earned national honors while sharing time with another All-American, Tinker Owens.

With a 6-3, 202-lb. frame and great speed, Brooks was one of the top receivers in the country. At OU, he had receptions of 72, 68, and 63 yards. He had game-winning touchdowns against both Texas and Iowa State. During his career at OU, the Sooners had a record of 32-1-1.

He was the 11th player taken in the 1976 draft by the Cincinnati Bengals.
