The University of Oklahoma's wrestling dual against Lehigh scheduled for this Sunday, Jan. 24 at 2 p.m. CT has been moved to a 12 p.m. CT start.
Sunday's dual will be webcast on SoonerSports.com and live stats will also be available.
Prior to the Lehigh dual, the Sooners will embark on the fifth annual Beauty and the Beast, which pits the Sooners' wrestling team against Virginia Tech. The wrestlers will compete alongside the 10th-ranked Oklahoma women's gymnastics team, who is set to take on 18th-ranked North Carolina State, inside the Lloyd Noble Center at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27

Patterson in All-Star Classic | Monday, Nov. 21 |
Oklahoma junior Jarrod Patterson will take on Kent State's fourth-ranked Nic Bedelyon in the 125 pound showdown at the 46th-annual NWCA All-Star Classic on Monday, Nov. 21, in Tempe, Ariz., at the Wells Fargo Arena.
Last season Patterson went 29-9 and finished seventh overall at the NCAA Championships where he was named a 2011 All-American. In addition, Patterson earned a silver medal at the 2011 Big 12 Championships.
Patterson becomes the 46th Sooner wrestler to compete in the event. Last year, OU's Zack Bailey defeated Ohio's Germane Lindsey, 3-2, in the 141 pound matchup.

Frayer Wins Sunkist Open | Sunday, Oct. 30 |
Oklahoma assistant coach Jared Frayer won the 66 kilogram men's freestyle title at the Sunkist Kids International Open on Sunday, Oct. 30, after posting a 5-0 record. The event was the first domestic qualifier for the Olympic Trials, which is set for Oct. 29-30 in Mesa, Ariz.
In route to the title, Frayer had a technical fall, two pins and two victories by decision. In the finals, Frayer topped Joe Johnston 4-0, 1-3, 3-1.
Current Sooners Jarrod Patterson (2-2) and Cody Brewer (3-2) each competed at 55 kilograms, while Erich Schmidtke (2-2) and Keldrick Hall (1-2) wrestled at 84 and 96 kilograms, respectively.
Volunteer assistant coach Tyrone Lewis was yet another Sooner who competed in the Open.
The annual Sunkist Kids International Open serves as a Trials qualifier in all seven of the men's Greco-Roman and freestyle weights and the four Olympic women's freestyle weights. The top U.S. finisher in freestyle placing in the top four will punch their ticket to Iowa City in each weight.

Brand Induction Ceremony | Friday, Sept. 30 |
Former OU wrestler Dennis Brand is being inducted into the Oklahoma Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame on Sunday, Oct. 9, in Stillwater, Okla.
Brand will receive the Outstanding American Award for his work outside the sport of wrestling. In 1970 Brand was a Big Eight champion for the University of Oklahoma at 158 lbs. He applied the skills learned in the wrestling room to a highly successful lifelong career in banking.
Reservations are $45 per person and are available online at www.ok-nwhof.ticketleap.com and are being accepted at the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in Stillwater.

WIN Preseason Rankings | Thursday, Sept. 15 |
WIN Magazine released its 2011-12 Preseason Team Tournament Power Index rankings where the Sooners came in tied at No. 18 with Pittsburgh. Penn State, Iowa and Oklahoma State topped the rankings.
Individually, the Sooners are well represented with six ranked wrestlers in their individual weight classes. Jarrod Patterson, who finished sixth at nationals last year, leads OU as the third-ranked wrestler at 125 pounds. Jordan Keller checks in at No. 11 among 133 pounders. Chase Nelson, 157 pounds, sits at No. 12. Kendrick Maple, a national qualifier at 133 pounds two years ago, and Elijah Madison are ranked No. 13 at 141 pounds and heavyweight, respectively. Matt Lester (149 pounds) rounds out the rankings at No. 15

Cody Tabbed Top Coach | Monday, Sept. 12 |
Mark Cody was named the nation's "Best Head Coach" in a recent coach's poll taken by d1collegewrestling.net. Cody, last year's NWCA National Coach of the Year, topped the poll with 23 percent of the votes.
Cornell's Rob Koll (17 percent) came in second, while Iowa's Tom Brands and Penn State's Cael Sanderson tied for third with 14 percent.

Sooners No. 16 in Preseason | Monday, Aug. 22 |
WrestlingReport.com ranks OU 16th in their preseason rankings, which came out Aug. 20. Iowa tops the rankings, followed by Oklahoma State and Penn State.
Additionally, Oklahoma has nine wrestlers individually ranked in their respective weight classes by the WrestlingReport. Leading the way for the Sooners is returning All-American Jarrod Patterson who is ranked No. 4 in the 125 pound weight class. Kendrick Maple and Chase Nelson are ranked ninth at 141 and 157 pounds, respectively. Ranked No. 11 at 133 pounds is senior Jordan Keller. Matt Lester checks in at No. 15 amongst 149 pounders, while Elijah Madison, OU's heavyweight, is No. 18 in his weight class. Erich Schmidtke, competing at 184 pounds, falls in at No. 19 and American transfer Bubby Graham sits at No. 29 at 165 pounds. Junior Keldrick Hall, ranked No. 32 at 197 pounds, rounds out the rankings.
Coming off a 16th place finish at the 2011 NCAA Championships, Oklahoma returns six starters and among the Sooners' starters seven are NCAA qualifiers.

Former Sooner to be Inducted | Tuesday, May 17 |
Former OU wrestling great Dick Delgado will be inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame on June 8-9 in Stillwater, Okla. Delgado wrestled at Oklahoma from 1956-58 where he won back-to-back national titles at 115 pounds. During his tenure at OU Delgado was a three-time All-American and Big 7 Champion.

The NCAA will announce the 330 student-athletes set participate in the 2011 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships via a Web stream selection show on NCAA.com on Wednesday, March 9 at 6 p.m. ET.
Shane Sparks will serve as the host as he unveils each of the 10 brackets in the championships field.

Pre-match Coaches Clinic | Tuesday, Feb. 1 |
The Oklahoma wrestling program will host a wrestling clinic on Saturday, Feb. 5 from 12:30-1:30 at the McCasland Field House prior to the Missouri dual. The clinic is free but space is limited.
Participants will be coached by members of the OU coaching staff, Oklahoma wrestlers and other affiliates of Sooner wrestling. Following the clinic attendees will be fed pizza.

The University of Oklahoma wrestling program brought presents, signed autographs and visited with patients at the Children's Center in Bethany, Okla. The gifts were donated to the Center's Holiday Baby Basics gift drive.

Bedlam Time Moved | Wednesday, Dec. 8 |
This Sunday's Bedlam showdown, originally scheduled for 2 p.m., has been moved to 6 p.m. and will be held inside Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater, Okla.
Tickets for the Bedlam dual are $12. Admission is $6 for groups of 20 or more, but to be eligible for that rate, the tickets need to be reserved ahead of time.

Hazewinkel Earns Silver | Tuesday, Nov. 30 |
Former Oklahoma wrestler Sam Hazewinkel won the men's freestyle silver medal on behalf of the at the Henri Deglane Challenge in Nice, France, this past weekend.
Hazewinkel, a four-time All-American at OU, added a big win to his resume after defeating 2003 World silver medalist Ghenadie Tulbea of Monaco in the semifinals. Hazewinkel completed competition with a 3-1 record after falling to the 2010 European champion Makmud Magomedov of Azerbaijan.

The eighth-ranked Oklahoma Sooners trounced Oklahoma City 43-0 to open collegiate action at the Oklahoma Open Saturday morning.
The Sooners (4-0) recorded four technical falls and added a pin to earn the victory over the NAIA's 12th-ranked Stars.
Oklahoma will take on the North Carolina State Wolfpack at 2 p.m. Saturday to close out Oklahoma Open action.

The Sooners jumped five spots to No. 2 nationally in the latest Amateur Wrestling News rankings released today.
"Rankings do not make a season, but they are evidence that people are recognizing the hard work and progress that our young men have made," head coach Jack Spates said. "We are very proud of them. Now we have to continue to work hard and try to exceed those expectations set before us."

Sammie Leads Pack | Tuesday, Oct. 26 |
Tim Foley of InterMatWrestling tabbed Oklahoma assistant coach Sammie Henson as the top assistant in the country. Henson, a former two-time All-American and Olympic medalist, joined the staff last year (2008) and helped lead the Sooners to a top-five finish at the 2010 NCAA Championships.

Another Top 10 Ranking | Wednesday, Sept. 29 |
Amateur Wrestling News ranks OU seventh in their preseason rankings, marking the third publication that has the Sooners ranked in the top 10 nationally.
Earlier this week Wrestling Insider Newsmagazine tabbed OU as the seventh best team in the country and The Open Mat ranked the Sooners at No. 9 entering the season.
Additionally, Oklahoma has six wrestlers individually ranked in their respective weight classes by Amateur Wrestling News. Leading the way for the Sooners is returning All-American Zack Bailey who is ranked No. 1 in the 141 weight class. Fellow All-American Tyler Caldwell is ranked No. 4 at 165 pounds. Ranked No. 10 at 125 pounds is the returning Big 12 Champion Jarrod Patterson. Senior Nathan Fernandez checks in at No. 12 in the heavyweight category. Senior Jeff James, competing at 174 pounds, falls in at No. 16. Erich Schmidtke, ranked No. 18, rounds out the rankings at 184 pounds.
Coming off a fifth place finish at the 2010 NCAA Championships Oklahoma returns seven starters and seven NCAA qualifiers to this year's squad. Also added to the team are 16 newcomers that comprised a stellar 2010 recruiting class that ranked in the top ten nationally.
