NORMAN, Okla. - The No. 2 Oklahoma women's gymnastics team posted its third-highest score in team history, defeating No. 16 Arizona 197.875-196.125 on Friday.

With the score and the University of Florida on a bye this week, undefeated Oklahoma (17-0) will retake the No. 1 ranking when polls are released on Monday.

Junior Taylor Spears won the all-around with a 39.600 in addition to tying for the beam and floor titles. Freshman Maile'ana Kanewa took the vault title while freshman Keeley Kmieciak won bars and tied for beam and freshman Haley Scaman tied for the floor title.

"Everything has been so different and presents new challenges all the time," said OU head coahc K.J. Kindler. "I think we pulled ourselves out of what we did last week, which was kind of subpar for us, and felt more normal today."

OU earned its best score of the night on floor, posting a 39.600. Junior Madison Mooring set a career high with a 9.9 while Spears and Scaman led the way with 9.95 scores.

The Sooners posted their second-best vault score of the season with a 49.500, led by Kanewa's 9.95. The score gave the freshman her second vault title in three meets this season.

"These ladies are doing really dynamic vaults," Kindler said. "They're big, they're hard, they're straight-bodied. That was a big improvement and I thought great energy, good momentum.

Kmieciak, who recorded 9.9 or above on all three of her routines, earned a 9.925 on bars for the Sooners, who finished with a 49.475.

Oklahoma will compete again Sunday, March 10, at 2:30 p.m. CT on Senior Day against No. 9 Stanford and North Carolina. Hot dogs and drinks will be available for 50 cents (while supplies last) while students can get free t-shirts and pizza. Click here for ticket information.
