MORGANTOWN, W. Va. -- Christal Caldwell scored 24 points to lead West Virginia past No. 21 Oklahoma 82-63 Sunday at WVU Coliseum.

Oklahoma opened the game taking an 11-point lead, before Joanna McFarland, who totaled her fifth double-double in conference play, collected a second personal foul halfway through the first period. West Virginia finished the half with a 23-9 run as Oklahoma missed eight consecutive field goals during the span.

McFarland had 14 points and matched a career-high 16 rebounds, but played only 27 minutes due to foul trouble in both halves.

Two free throws by Caldwell closed OU's first-half lead to 18-11 with 11 minutes remaining and McFarland fouled Crystal Leary on a rebound the next trip down the court.

Only Morgan Hook would score for the Sooners as OU missed 11 of its next 14 field goals to let the Mountaineers take the a 34-27 halftime advantage.

Hook also had 14 points with 10 coming in the paint as the Sooners were stalled beyond the arc all afternoon.

Oklahoma hit only five of 22 3-point attempts, nearly four shy of its average.

WVU's lead was cut to single digits with 11 minutes left in the second half. But a fourth foul on McFarland sent Oklahoma's most impactful player to the bench once more and the Sooners could not recover.
