IRVING, Texas – University of Oklahoma senior middle blocker Sallie McLaurin (Midwest City) was named the Big 12 volleyball Offensive Player of the Week for the fifth time this season. Her fifth award of the season ties a conference record set by Texas' Haley Eckerman in 2012.
McLaurin, who has garnered 11 awards from the Big 12 in her career, hit .475 with a 3.50 kills per set average in a 2-0 week for the Sooners. She posted 10 kills vs. TCU and 11 against Baylor. McLaurin has now hit .400 or better in 19 of 27 matches. She added four digs and seven blocks in the two matches.
The Big 12 previously honored McLaurin with the Offensive Player of the Week award on September 2, 9 and 16 as well as October 28.
Oklahoma returns to action Wednesday at 6:00 pm in a road match at Texas Tech.
