Broyles Pro Day Quotes |
On the NFL scouts only needing to see a few routes:
"For sure. I wanted to keep going. I have been working for months doing all my routes. So for them to cut it short shows that they have respect for me as a ball catcher. I have been working for it."
On what he has been able to do since his surgery:
"I feel like today I showed that I am running. No limp. My body is healing up. They said it's up to eight-to-nine months to recover. I feel that I am ahead of schedule now. Being able to do this, cut and run routes at four-and-a-half months so hopefully that should them something."
On his 40 time today:
"I have been in the 4.4 range before. My left leg is not where I want it to be but that is not expected right now. I still have got to get into the weight room a little bit more. I feel like today I showed up and showed I've been working hard. I have definitely been timing well. The scouts said the same thing. They don't expect me to be full speed. I don't expect the same. Me being competitive, I wish it was in the 4.3 range. That's not the scenario. It just shows that I am working hard. I am getting my lateral movement back as well."
On if he was pain free today:
"I feel good. They cut me short. I feel like I could keep going right now. I have been working hard these past few months just to show that I am a competitor. I am going to compete. I am going to be ready for camp. I am on my way."
On where he has been working out and what was the reaction at the combine:
"I was out in Southern California for two months leading up to the combine. Ever since then, I have been back here working out. I can't dictate my past. I can't change that. What happened, happened. I am bouncing back. I am striving to be a better person and a better player. I am going to do that everyday. They don't expect me to be full speed like I said. I went out there and I got to do the bench, I did the wonderlic, I showed up well at those events. I think I did well in the interviews so they know that I am a character guy. I won't be bringing any baggage along. I am just looking forward to the future."
On how it feels getting back out there today:
"It's emotional. I have just been working so hard. Really just coming out here to show that I am coming up to speed and I am on my way. It feels good to do that. I am going to rest up until the draft and then get back at it."
On what it has taken to get to this point after the injury:
"I probably started running three weeks early that's why I am looking so well right now. I pushed through the pain. Now the pain is going away which is a blessing. I am a fast healer that's why I was able to do what I could today. It's an emotional time for me. I am glad that I could come out and show a little bit."
On how much longer his recovery will take:
"I definitely have to get stronger. I am four-and-a-half months out. It takes about six months, they say. About another month-and-a-half I will feel a lot better about my leg. I felt like I was moving as fast as I could today. I am not where I want to be. I just wanted to show the scouts that came a long way to see me so I wanted to show them that I was working hard.
